Recorded on zoom h4n inside a tent and underneath a nylon tarp during a heavy rain fall. It starts off light, and gets heavy around the 4min mark.

Since the rain wasnot blowing in the door, i could hangthe mike out the door. Audacity was myplatform, with very little processing. This version was recorded with the default amplitude at o db. There is a little thunder now and then,and birds chirping outside, mostlycatbirds or mockingbirds. At one pointone of my neighbors was outside talking,the conversation is not distinguishable. Early morning in ladner, british columbia. A light drizzle, with rain trickling down a nearby spout. A robin sings to its hearts content in a tree in our front yard. Recorded using a zoom 2.

Rain & distant thunder around 8pm in warren, michigan (suburb of detroit). Recorded on a zoom h1n. Some faint traffic sounds & a bit of white noise coming from an air-conditioner unit. Zoom h1n was placed in my porch light compartment about 2 feet below our rain gutter. Most of the original hour long recording was ruined due to wind gust, but i edited it down to the only continuous 11 minutes without the gust of wind.

The recording starts with gentle rain and slow thunder rolling across the sky. The thunder is predominantly in the first half of the recording. The rain increases in intensity in the second half, peaking about three-quarters of the way through. Recorded on a sheltered, outdoor stairway, in a suburban location in south-eastern england, in august 2013; using a zoom h2n recorder set on mid-side stereo, at a 120 degree spread. The original recording was heavily edited, to remove traffic, trains, planes and parakeets(!). Some light, occasional, background traffic noise remains, however.
